Collaboration celebration

Phew! What a month it’s been so far here at helmii HQ. We’ve only gone and embarked on our very first brand collaboration with award-winning UAE interior design dream team, HOUSE of HAWKES, to create a stylish new bed with removable fabric covers – and we’re proud to say we are the first retailer in the region to offer this exciting new concept in bedroom interiors.

Removeable, washable covers are something most of us would associate with sofas (namely those from a particularly popular Swedish outfit!) and anyone who has ever owned one will appreciate how changing up the colour with fresh covers can completely transform a room at a relatively low price. So imagine what this could do for somewhere as personal as a bedroom?

A first meeting with Kathryn and Charly from HOUSE of HAWKES over a cup of coffee back in December last year is exactly where this idea came from. They had the creative vision and the design concept, and we knew our master craftspeople could bring it to life and potentially start a revamp revolution of bedrooms all over the UAE!

“This exciting collaboration is helmii’s first partnership and we are delighted to working with Kathyrn and her team. Helmii’s renowned quality standards and HOUSE of HAWKES’ style coming together in one product is a distinctive offering for our combined audiences and beyond,” helmii’s founder, Simon Moore, reveals. “We love the colours we’ve selected for the launch range and are already planning the next collection which will offer a completely different mood and feel, incorporating some beautiful velvet options in a deeper colour blend.”

 The mutual objective was  to create something cozy and inviting that would carry HOUSE of HAWKES’  signature crisp and simple aesthetic using their creativity and helmii’s manufacturing knowledge and experience.

 “When I started my blog and subsequent interior design career path almost six years ago, never could I have imagined that I would be asked by a bed retailer to design a bed for them. Fast forward to 2019 and it is with great excitement that I announce my design collaboration with helmii,” added Kathryn Hawkes, founder of HOUSE of HAWKES.

The launch collection is in a ‘limited edition’ range of colours. The soft, washable, textured linen and cotton blend covers are available in off-white, beige, grey and dark grey whilst the polycotton dry-clean-only covers are available in cream, parchment, stone, grey, turquoise and sorbet pink.
